Leaking Pipes in Building
What began as an unfortunate case of water damage became an opportunity to completely reimagine this apartment. Due to leaking pipes in the building, the wood floors throughout the home buckled, which in turn damaged both the kitchen and bathroom. After assessing the impact, the homeowners decided not just to repair, but to fully renovate the entire apartment.
Key Features of the Project:
Kitchen & Living Space:
Complete rebuild with matte black cabinetry, integrated appliances, and a bold black marble island with white veining.
Warm, wide-plank wood flooring runs throughout the home, chosen both for durability and contemporary appeal.
Open-concept layout ensures seamless flow from kitchen to living and dining, enhanced by expansive city views.
Bathrooms:
Fully replaced and upgraded, featuring black stone vanities, textured feature walls, and backlit mirrors.
A custom walk-in shower with LED-lit niches creates a spa-like retreat.
The primary bath incorporates dual vanities and full-height porcelain slabs for a dramatic yet timeless design.
Bedrooms & Closets:
Renovated with custom storage, including a walk-in closet with integrated lighting and modern shelving.
The primary bedroom features a statement accent wall with geometric detailing for added depth and texture.
Home Office:
Redesigned to be both functional and stylish, with built-in cabinetry, glass-front shelving, and a desk positioned to capture panoramic skyline views.
Design Approach:
Out of an unexpected setback, the homeowners embraced the chance to transform their apartment into a bold, contemporary space. Matte black finishes, striking marble, and warm wood floors create balance between drama and livability. The result is a home that feels brand new — sophisticated, cohesive, and built to last.
